The Legacy Trail
Your family footsteps.
Your Irish story began somewhere. The Legacy Trail turns family names, places and memories into a private journey through the Ireland that is part of you.
A journey that begins before you arrive
- Share what you know — names, counties, parishes, townlands, dates, photographs or family stories.
- We identify meaningful locations and shape a realistic route around your time in Ireland.
- Travel privately to the places connected with your family and explore the history around them.
- Take home a prepared heritage scrapbook with selected maps, photographs, locations and memories from your journey.

More than a tour
The founder’s own family story crosses the Atlantic: a Kerry grandfather and Galway grandmother first met and married in Boston before returning to a farm in Kerry. That personal connection is at the heart of The Legacy Trail – understanding that a place can mean far more when it belongs to your family’s story.
Bring us what you know
You do not need a complete family tree. Even a county, surname or family story may provide a place to begin. We will be honest about what can be identified and build the most meaningful journey possible from the information available.

Comparing the tours
Still deciding? These are the questions guests ask most before booking.
Ireland’s Southern Gem. It covers the best-known Kerry and Cork landscapes without long transfers, and works well as a three or four day base from Killarney or Dingle.
Yes. The Southern Gem and The Wild West link naturally into one longer route up the Wild Atlantic Way, and the Legacy Trail can be added as a day within either.
For May to September we recommend three to six months. Shoulder-season dates are often available at shorter notice.
Your guide will reorder the day rather than cancel it. There is always an indoor stop, a sheltered walk or a different valley worth driving.
